The Edward Hosharian Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of Composer and Conductor Edward Hosharian to support Armenian students pursuing educational goals in music. This scholarship is geared towards students who are majoring in music performance or composition.
Scholarship Details
- One scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded
- Applications run from the beginning of September through the end of February
- Supports students pursuing educational goals in music
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be of Armenian descent
- Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States (Community Colleges do not qualify)
- Must be entering sophomore status or above
- Must major in music performance or composition
- Must demonstrate financial need
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application
- Prepare and submit a personal statement
- Request official transcripts to be mailed directly from the educational institution
- Obtain two letters of recommendation from instructors or advisors and have them emailed or mailed directly by the instructors or advisors
- If applying as a performance major, submit a YouTube link of a performance or a self-made video
- If applying as a composition major, email two composition scores as PDFs along with recordings or mockups of the scores in MP3 format or as links
