• Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Soroptimist International of Los Angeles is offering its annual fellowship to an outstanding woman graduate student. This student must be attending graduate school in Los Angeles County, California. The award of $3,500 is for the academic year during which it is awarded. The field of study is open, but consideration will be given to candidates who have high financial need and contribute to the betterment of a community through volunteer efforts, with particular attention to the betterment of women and girls. Soroptimist International of Los Angeles has given educational awards to outstanding women since 1947.

  Candidates must be able to demonstrate enrollment in a graduate degree program during the academic year following your application at an accredited institution of higher education in Los Angeles County, California and you must be able to demonstrate sufficient financial need as well as supply confirmation of volunteering, with particular attention to the betterment of women and girls.
