Despite being the First Ally of the winning coalition, Poland lost its independence as a result of WWII to the Soviet Union and continued to suffer under the brutal Stalinist regime for decades to come. To this day, Poland has not received any war reparations either from Germany or the Soviet Union and its successor, Russia.
Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria
- Adults aged 18 or older
- Essay must be in English, reflecting original research and analysis
- Proof of age required (valid document showing date of birth)
Application Process
- Research the given topics using reliable Polish sources (e.g., Polish Institute of National Remembrance)
- Write an essay between 10-20 pages, including bibliography
- Format: 12-point font, double-spaced, 1” margins, pages numbered
- Submit the essay in English by October 15th
The essay shall reflect the contestant’s own research and original thinking. You may use AI for research, but do not use AI in writing the text of the essay. If we identify essay texts written by AI your essay will be disqualified.
