EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases established the #RAREis Scholarship Fund to enrich the lives of adults living with rare diseases by providing support for their educational pursuits.
Scholarship Details
- Up to 58 awards will be granted for the upcoming academic year
- A disease is considered rare if it affects fewer than 200,000 people in the U.S.
- Optional opportunity to share your story with Amgen or EveryLife’s social media, newsletters, or website
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be aged 17 or older
- Must be a resident of the United States
- Must plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the coming academic year
- Must have a rare disease. Can be diagnosed by a physician or undiagnosed
- Preference given to those who can demonstrate financial need
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form
- Provide a Diagnosis Verification Form from a licensed physician
- Submit an essay describing your personal journey and educational goals
- Include information about leadership, extracurricular activities, work experience, academic performance, and financial need
- Submit all application materials before 2:00 PM EST on the deadline
Awardees will also be connected to Stephanie Riordan, Senior Director of Patient Programs, to facilitate a congratulatory meeting, share their rare disease story, and learn about mentorship and advocacy opportunities.
