The VPMA offers renewable scholarship awards in the spring and fall semesters to undergraduate and graduate students whose studies are focused in the field of structural pest management. This scholarship is intended to recognize those superior students whose research and extension activities have benefited (or will benefit) the pest management industry. The objective of the scholarship is to encourage these students to prepare for careers in urban pest management. This is offered twice a year, with applications due in January and August.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled full-time at a Virginia college or university at the time of the award
- High school seniors may apply, but must be enrolled in a Virginia institution to receive the scholarship
- Must be pursuing a program with a technical focus on structural pest control
Application Process
- Complete and submit the official scholarship application form
- Submit a current curriculum vitae or resume
- Submit a one-page, double-spaced essay explaining how your studies and work will contribute to the pest management industry in Virginia
- Provide two letters of recommendation from faculty or industry professionals that address work ethic, academic progress, and pest management focus
- Email the complete application packet by January 30 for the Spring scholarship or August 30 for the Fall scholarship
- Await notification via email by late February (Spring) or late September (Fall)
The deadline for submission of complete application packets is February 16 for Spring Scholarships and August 30 for Fall Scholarships. Students will be notified via email by late February for the Spring semester and late September for the Fall semester. Complete application packets should be submitted via email.
