Scholarship Description

The Northern Tier Hardwood Association (NTHA) Community Forests Scholarship offers $1,000 to one high school senior annually who resides in or attends school in Bradford or Sullivan County, Pennslyvania. This scholarship supports students pursuing post-secondary education in Community/Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, or related fields. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to environmental and forest-related careers and submit supporting materials including references and proof of acceptance.

Scholarship Details

  • One $1,000 scholarship awarded annually
  • Open to high school seniors in Bradford and Sullivan counties
  • Supports studies in Community/Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, or related fields
  • Funds awarded upon proof of college, university, or technical school acceptance
  • Application deadline is April 30th of each year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a high school senior in Bradford or Sullivan County
  • Accepted to a program in Community/Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, or a related field
  • Accepted to a technical school, college, or university
  • Must provide three references, including one from outside the school
  • Must submit proof of acceptance when available

Application Process

  1. Download or request the official NTHA Community Forests Scholarship application
  2. Complete the application form with detailed responses
  3. Obtain three references, including at least one from outside your school
  4. Gather and include proof of acceptance to your program or institution
  5. Mail the completed application and supporting documents to: Northern Tier Hardwood Association, PO Box 7, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 by April 30
