Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. Brandon's mother, Catherine Kalahar-Walker, and father, Steve Walker, have established the Brandon Walker "BW" Memorial Scholarship for students pursuing a college education at Ferris State University in honor of Brandon's passion for helping youth. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; be a graduating high school senior from Frankenmuth High School, Freeland High School, Hemlock High School, Nouvel Catholic Central High School, St. Charles High School, Swan Valley High School, or Valley Lutheran High School, and be ursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree via full-time enrollment at Ferris State University. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary.
