Eligibility Criteria
- Meet general Cal Grant requirements
- Demonstrate financial need
- Not awarded a Cal Grant Entitlement award
- Attending an eligible California university
- For Cal Grant A:
- Low to middle income
- High school minimum GPA of 3.0, college 2.40
- Enrolled in a program of at least 2 years in length
- Applicable to tuition and fees
- For Cal Grant B:
- Low income
- Blanket minimum GPA of 2.0
- Enrolled in a program of at least 1 year in length
- Applicable to tuition, fees, and living expenses
Application Process
- Complete the FAFSA (or CA Dream Act Application if ineligible for FAFSA)
- Submit it ahead of its deadline and the grant deadline
- Submit your GPA as requested
Freshmen will only receive funds for living expenses; sophomores and higher may also receive funds to aid their tuition and fees.
