Scholarship Description

The COAG Scholarship is open to any Georgia high school senior (or a GED 1equivalency dated December 31, 2024 to May 31, 2026) who is a United States and Georgia citizen graduating by the spring of 2026. You must be seeking an undergraduate degree, not a diploma, certification, master’s or doctoral degree.

Scholarship Details

  • Sponsored by the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia (COAG)
  • Open to Georgia high school seniors and eligible GED recipients
  • Supports undergraduate study at accredited colleges, junior colleges, and technical colleges located in Georgia
  • Recipients are selected through an anonymous essay review process
  • Applications are due annually in March

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Georgia high school senior graduating in spring or hold a GED earned within the past 22 months
  • Must be both a United States citizen and a Georgia citizen
  • Must plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited Georgia institution of higher education
  • Must provide proof of Georgia residency
  • Must submit proof of acceptance or enrollment at an eligible Georgia college, junior college, or technical college

Application Process

  1. Complete the official COAG scholarship application.
  2. Interview a Georgia Clerk of Superior Court, Probate Judge, Sheriff, or Tax Commissioner and write a 1,000-word essay based on the annual scholarship theme.
  3. Prepare the essay according to all formatting and anonymity requirements.
  4. Include proof of acceptance or enrollment at an accredited Georgia institution of higher education.
  5. Include proof of Georgia residency.
  6. Email the completed application, title page, essay, and all required supporting documents in a single email by the published deadline.

All entries will be reviewed by the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia, Inc. (COAG) Scholarship Committee. The committee members will select the scholarship recipients based on the content of the essay. All essays become the property of COAG. Winners names may be released to the public and news media for promotional purposes.
