The Georgia Public Service Memorial (GPSM) Grant provides grant funds to be used towards the cost of attendance, while enrolled in an undergraduate or Graduate program of study, at eligible colleges, universities or technical colleges in Georgia.
Grant Details
- Covers the total cost of attendance, minus other financial aid, up to $18,000 per award year
- Applicable to undergraduate degree programs or technical certificates/diplomas
- Applications are accepted on an ongoing, rolling basis throughout the year.
- Awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be the dependent child or spouse of a Georgia Public Safety Officer who was permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or eligible permanent resident
- Must be a legal resident of Georgia for at least 12 months prior to receiving aid
- Enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) in a Georgia public or private college, university, or technical college
- Must be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements

- Gather documentation, including proof of dependency and the officer’s disability or death in the line of duty
- Complete the grant application form provided by the Georgia Student Finance Commission
- Submit the application as early as possible, as funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
