The Heart Warrior Achievement Scholarship provides assistance to undergraduates and high school seniors who suffer from CHDs, in hopes of reducing some of their burden from an already hard journey with CHD.
Scholarship Details
- Open to high school seniors and undergraduates diagnosed with CHDs
- Award amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000
- Funds are sent directly to the recipient’s college or trade school
- Fall deadline: September 15, with notification by December 1
- Spring deadline: February 15, with notification by April 1
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be entering or currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college, university, or trade school
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
Application Process
- Write and submit a personal statement (minimum 500 words) describing obstacles faced due to CHD and how they impact your goals
- Provide letter from a licensed practitioner confirming CHD diagnosis (no medical records)
- Proof of Fall enrollment required before award is disbursed (not needed for initial application)
- Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance (can be submitted later)
- Participate in a personal interview with a Board Member after application submission
- Send all application materials via email or mail by the appropriate deadline
The number of scholarships and the award amounts may vary with awards starting at $1,000. Application and supporting materials can be filled out online. Supporting materials may also be sent via email, if necessary.
