The Iowa Scholarship for the Arts supports the development of outstanding high school seniors who excel in the arts and are enrolled in accredited educational programs leading to careers in the arts.
Scholarship Details
- $5,000 scholarship awarded for the coming academic year
- Funds may be used toward tuition at an accredited Iowa college or university
- Supports students pursuing careers in the arts
- Available to students majoring in music, dance, visual arts, theatre, folklife, or literature
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a current Iowa resident
- Must graduate from an Iowa high school during the coming school year
- Must demonstrate proven artistic ability in music, dance, visual arts, theatre, folklife, or literature
- Must be accepted as a full-time undergraduate student at a fully accredited Iowa college or university
- Must major in an eligible arts discipline
- Immediate family members or dependents of IEDA board members, Iowa Arts Council board members, or IEDA staff are not eligible
Application Process
- Review the program guidelines for detailed application and review requirements
- Complete and submit the online scholarship application by April 1st, at 11:59 PM
- Participate in finalist interviews if selected, scheduled around April 23rd
- Await award notification, which will be issued by May 12th
Scholarships in the amount of $5,000 are awarded to support the coming academic year tuition expenses at Iowa colleges or universities. Immediate family members or dependent children of IEDA board members, Iowa Arts Council board members or IEDA staff are not eligible.
