The Italian American Executives of Transportation Organization annually awards College Scholarships to young men and women of Italian American heritage (in whole or in part).
Scholarship Details
- Awarded annually to students of Italian American heritage (in whole or in part)
- Open to graduating high school seniors and current college freshmen
- Recipients are recognized at the IAET Awards Banquet
Eligibility Criteria
- Must reside in the State of Illinois
- Must be of Italian American heritage, in whole or in part
- Must be either a graduating high school senior or a current college freshman during the award year
- Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need, and the required essay
- Additional consideration may be given to applicants with documented special needs or unusual circumstances
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application.
- Write the required essay discussing the importance of Italian Americans in the community and your current or future impact.
- Submit an official high school transcript.
- Provide information about extracurricular activities, community service, financial need, and any other scholarships received.
- Submit one or more letters of recommendation from a previous teacher.
- Upload a current headshot photograph.
- If selected, attend the IAET Awards Banquet and comply with all recipient requirements.
The Italian American Executives of Transportation was organized on May 12, 1965. Membership at that time was composed of individuals of Italian-American descent who were actively engaged in the field of transportation. An Essay regarding the importance of Italian Americans in the community is a critical part of the application process. All who qualify are encouraged to apply.
