The Women’s Division of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans is offering several Two thousand dollars scholarships to young ladies of Italian heritage, who are graduating high school at the end of the school year. This Scholarship award will be presented at the Scholarship Benefit Fashion Show and Dinner to be held at the Drury Lane Oak Brook, Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois.
Scholarship Details
- Applicants must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or an accredited vocational or technical school
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required
- Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Scholarship Benefit Fashion Show and must attend to accept the award
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have at least one parent of Italian descent
- Must be an Illinois resident
- Must be a high school senior
- Must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited institution of higher education or a vocational program
Application Process
- Complete and sign the scholarship application, answering all questions; attach additional pages if more space is needed
- Include an official copy of your current high school transcript
- Obtain two letters of recommendation from individuals who are not family members and can speak to your character, motivation, strengths, and potential
- Submit your ACT or SAT scores
- Write an essay describing your Italian ancestry and explaining why you are proud of your heritage
- Include a small photo of yourself
- Attach all required documents to your application before submitting it
Founded in 1952, the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (JCCIA) is dedicated to its heritage and promoting the Italian American community. The JCCIA serves as a congress for 60+ Chicagoland Italian American organizations, representing the community on a local, state, national and international level.
