Scholarship Description

KASF scholarships (which range from $500 to $5,000) are offered to the qualified Korean American students (including foreign students from Korea). All applicants must be enrolled in a full time program in the U.S during the scholarship application year. If extra funds are available, other students (non Koreans) may qualify for scholarships. Specifically, descendants of American veterans served during the Korean War may qualify for scholarships (applicable to selective regions).

Eligibility Criteria

  • High school applicants must demonstrate special talent, such as achievement in music or other recognized areas
  • KASF-KIA Scholarship applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA
  • KASF-KIA Scholarship applicants must pursue an eligible STEM field or Business Administration degree
  • Applicants are evaluated based on financial need, academic achievement, recommendations, essays, and community involvement

Application Process

  1. Determine the KASF regional chapter associated with your school’s location
  2. Review the scholarship requirements and application instructions for that region
  3. Complete the appropriate scholarship application form
  4. Prepare and submit required materials, including transcripts, recommendations, essays, and supporting documentation
  5. Provide information regarding financial need, extracurricular activities, and community service
  6. If applying for the KASF-KIA Scholarship, verify eligibility in an approved STEM or Business Administration field and meet the minimum GPA requirement
  7. Submit all application materials before the regional deadline
  8. If selected for a KASF-KIA Scholarship, submit the required one-minute video testimonial according to program guidelines
