The Mel C. Marshall Student Scholarship was developed to encourage high school seniors or college students to enroll in careers related to the precast concrete industry and to provide opportunities for those students who receive financial support to liaise with CPCA.
Scholarship Details
- Awards $500 per semester to eligible recipients
- Supports students pursuing careers related in fields such as safety, accounting, and information technology
- Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 to remain eligible for future awards
- Recipients must submit transcripts each semester and provide proof of enrollment at an approved educational institution
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a California resident
- Must plan to enroll full time during the academic year beginning in the semester following the application
- Must pursue a field of study related to the building, construction, or precast concrete industry
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application
- Obtain an official high school and/or college transcript covering the most recent grading period; high school transcripts must include ACT or SAT scores and class standing
- Request a letter of recommendation from a high school or college faculty member
- Obtain a letter of sponsorship from a CPCA member in good standing; contact the CPCA office if assistance is needed to connect with a member
- Submit the completed application and all required supporting documents before the application deadline
The academic institution will be either a college/university or community college located in the United States which has a minimum two-year program related to the building, construction or PRECAST industry. After approval by the Scholarship Committee, awards of $500 per semester will be provided to recipients who meet the criteria.
