The Lenape Scholarship at New York University honors the Lenape people, whose ancestral lands are home to the university’s founding campus. This scholarship was created to offer New York residents with Native American heritage the opportunity to pay for their education at one of the country's finest educational institutions.
Scholarship Details

- Preference given to applicants who self-certify as members of the Lenape tribal nation
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must demonstrate active participation in or engagement with Native American culture and communities
- Preference provided to students who identify as members of the Lenape tribal nation (self-certification accepted)
- Open to both undergraduate and graduate applicants at New York University
- Selection based on cultural involvement and contribution rather than tribal enrollment status
