The Oregon Opportunity Grant (OOG) is a need-based grant that provides financial assistance to Oregon students each year. This grant is available to students of all ages who are pursuing their first associate degree or bachelor's degree at an eligible Oregon college or university.
Scholarship Details
- Provides need-based financial assistance to more than 30,000 Oregon students each year
- Award amounts vary based on financial need, Student Aid Index, institution type, and enrollment level
- Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Oregon resident for at least 12 months before attending college and must not have been admitted to the United States for educational purposes
- Out-of-state students who are members of Native American tribes with traditional ties to Oregon may qualify as Oregon residents
- Undocumented students, including DACA students, may qualify if they meet all eligibility requirements
- Students who cannot file the FAFSA may submit the Oregon Student Aid Application
- Must be an undergraduate student who has not previously earned a bachelor's degree
- Must be enrolled at a participating Oregon-based postsecondary institution
- Must not have federal student loans in default or owe refunds on federal student grants
Application Process
- Submit a FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible after October 1 each year
- Submit the FAFSA or ORSAA by the applicable cutoff date to be considered for the grant
- If you are a first-time student, complete the admission process at at least one eligible Oregon public or private nonprofit college or university
- Complete any additional requirements or respond to requests from your college
- Monitor your financial aid information because changes or updates to your FAFSA or ORSAA may affect your eligibility or award amount
