Each year, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative offers the REC Community Scholarship program to students pursuing their career goals through college or career and technical education. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement and letters of recommendation.
Scholarship Details
- Fifteen scholarships of $1,000 and two scholarships of $2,500 each are available
- Scholarships support students attending a college or university or a career and technical school
- Scholarships are presented to students before the end of their school year
Eligibility Criteria
- High school seniors planning to attend a college or university may apply for the High School Senior Scholarship
- High school seniors planning to attend a career and technical school may apply for the Career & Technical School Scholarship
- Students currently enrolled in a career and technical school may apply for the Career & Technical School Scholarship
- Students currently enrolled in a college or university may apply for the College Student Scholarship
- Applicants must complete the appropriate scholarship application by the deadline to be eligible
Application Process
- Determine which REC Community Scholarship category matches your current educational status and future plans
- Complete the appropriate scholarship application for the selected category
- Provide the required information and materials, including information demonstrating your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community involvement and letters of recommendation
- Submit the completed application by the scholarship deadline
- Check for notification of your scholarship award status in April
