Regions Bank awards quarterly scholarships of $8,000 each to the student with the best video or written essay. The topic of students' written or video essays must be an individual they know personally who lives in their community; the essay must address how the individual has inspired the applicant and helped them build the confidence they need to achieve their goals.

Eligibility Criteria
- Be a legal U.S. resident of one of the following states:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Florida
- Georgia
- Iowa
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Age 16 or older
- Have at least one 1 year (or at least 18 semester hours) remaining before college graduation
- If you are not yet in college, begin your freshman year of college either the semester following application or the year after
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 and good academic standing
- Not a previous winner of a Regions Riding Forward Quarterly Contest
Application Process
- Complete the current Quarterly Contest entry form online to begin
- Prepare an essay in accordance with the provided essay topic guidelines
- If submitting a written essay:
- Use of AI is strictly prohibited
- Keep your essay under 500 words
- If submitting a video essay:
- Use of AI is strictly prohibited
- Only digital submissions will be accepted
- Do not include any music
- Keep your video under 3 minutes long
- Ensure the file does not exceed 1 GB in size
- Follow Regions's guidelines for quality video recording
- Review your application and essay in full, then submit all materials prior to the deadline of the current Quarterly Contest
- If chosen as a recipient, provide all required information to Regions as requested to claim your award
The Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest consists of 4 separate Quarterly Contests, one for each calendar quarter of the calendar year. Each Quarterly Contest has its own separate entry period. Announcement of winners will be approximately two months after each deadline date. All entries must be the applicants' own work; plagiarism and the use of AI will not be tolerated.
