SCAD Challenge entries must consist of a single piece and demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of aesthetics. Let your design speak to your skill level and ability to handle university-level art and design assignments.
Scholarship Details
- Winners in each category receive scholarships to attend SCAD
- Scholarships are renewable annually based on GPA (3.0 for undergraduate, 3.25 for graduate)
- One submission allowed per category
- Applicants may enter multiple categories, but may only place in one
- Highest award is honored if an applicant places in multiple years
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate Challenge: Open to high school juniors and seniors
- Transfer Challenge: Open to students transferring to SCAD in the coming academic year
- Graduate Challenge: Open to students enrolling in a SCAD graduate program in the coming academic year
Application Process
- Complete and submit an online application for admission to SCAD by February 17th
- Prepare one original piece that demonstrates your artistic ability in any eligible SCAD Challenge category
- Log into SlideRoom, select the appropriate SCAD Challenge category
- Complete the form in SlideRoom and upload your work according to the provided submission guidelines
- Submit your entry by 11:59 p.m. ET on February 17th
Submit work to be considered in one or more SCAD Challenge categories, keeping in mind your submission is not required to reflect your major of interest. For example, if you intend on majoring in interior design at SCAD, and your current strength is photography, you may submit a piece in the photography category. You may submit only one piece per SCAD Challenge category.
