At the Annual National Shrimp Festival, the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber awards up to $1,000 to high school students in their Singing for Scholarships competition.
Scholarship Details
- Event Date: Saturday, October 11th, during the Annual National Shrimp Festival
- One student per Baldwin County high school (public, private, city school, or home-schooled) will compete
- Top three student winners and their high schools receive cash awards
- Over $35,000 in scholarships awarded to students and schools since the program’s inception
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled in any Baldwin County high school program through October 11th
- Open to all students regardless of music or choir program enrollment
- Each school conducts its own selection contest to choose one representative
Application Process
- Contact your high school’s administrators, teachers, counselors, or music/band directors to learn about the school’s contest
- Compete in your high school’s selection contest to be chosen as the school’s representative
- Prepare for the Singing for Scholarships competition held on October 11th
- Perform live at the National Shrimp Festival for judges and the community
- Top three winners will be awarded scholarships, and their schools will receive additional funds
