Presented by Papitto Opportunity Connection (POC), the annual Transform Rhode Island Scholarship competition challenges Rhode Island high schoolers to pitch a new way to improve the state. 10 finalists are chosen to receive awards from $5,000 to $15,000; the ultimate winner will receive a $25,000 scholarship and a $1,000,000 investment in their idea.
Scholarship Details
- Solely merit-based with no consideration to financial need
- Students must submit individual projects, no groups
- Pitches can be in video, essay, or multimedia format
- Scholarships can go towards housing and healthcare in addition to college tuition
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual high school student
- Attending school in Rhode Island
- Not a previous recipient of the award
Application Process
- Create an essay, video, or multimedia pitch for your innovation
- Essays must be fewer than 1,000 words in length
- Videos must be fewer than 3 minutes in length
- Submit your proposal in advance of the deadline
Winning entries will establish new solutions for aiding underserved Rhode Island communities, not donations or investments to existing organizations.
