The Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship offers a $7,500 scholarship to at least seven high school seniors in San Diego County each year. A second scholarship of $7,500 can also be earned, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing following the first year of college, for a total possible scholarship award of $15,000.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school senior in San Diego County
- Must plan to enroll in a two-year or four-year college
- Must have overcome personal obstacles involving drugs or alcohol
- Must demonstrate participation and achievement in organized athletics
- Must show leadership ability and personal responsibility
- Must show academic growth, though no minimum GPA is required
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must have a strong commitment to personal goals and continued development
Application Process
- Complete the official nomination form with accurate student information
- Include a copy of the student’s high school transcript
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or counselor addressing character, growth, and merit
- Ensure the application is submitted by a school representative such as a coach, teacher, counselor, or principal
- Submit all documents by the February 13th deadline
All submissions must include: the completed nomination form, a copy of the student’s high school transcripts and a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or counselor. The letter of recommendation should attest to why the nominee’s behavior, attitude, desire and character warrant this scholarship.
