  • The Harold Johnson Law Enforcement Scholarship was established in memory of Police Chief Harold "Hal" Johnson to provide financial support to students who plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields. This scholarship honors Hal's 29 year law enforcement career, which began in Sacramento, California, in 1955. He chose his career after serving honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Hal rose through the ranks swiftly to become one of the youngest Police Captains in Southern California.
