The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics.
Scholarship Details
- Video Length: Up to 2:00 minutes
- Topics: Physics, Life Sciences, or Mathematics
- Peer Review: Engage in peer-to-peer review and scoring
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Requirements: 13 or older by May 11th, not older than 18 by October 1st
- Language: Submissions must be in English
- Open to: Diverse range of participants, including homeschooled students, those with disabilities, and international students
Application Process
- Sign Up: Select a challenging topic from physics, life sciences, or mathematics.
- Create a Video: Develop a captivating video (up to 2:00 minutes) explaining the chosen concept with creativity and clarity.
- Submit Your Application: Provide a YouTube video link in your application.
- Peer-to-Peer Review: Engage in reviewing and scoring submissions from five other contestants.
