The Vince Dooley Scholarship Fund was established in 1988 to honor Coach Vince Dooley's 25th year at the University of Georgia. Every year a $3,000 scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, Clay or Baker counties based on academic and economic need.
Scholarship Details

- Sponsored by the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Bulldog Alumni Scholarships, Inc.
- Supports students attending the University of Georgia
- Designed to help offset out-of-state tuition costs
- Total annual scholarship commitment is $20,000
- Scholarship is renewable if academic requirements are maintained
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an incoming freshman planning to attend the University of Georgia
- Must reside in one of the following Florida counties: Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, Clay, or Baker
- Must demonstrate academic need and achievement
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must meet any additional scholarship requirements established by the sponsoring organization
- Must maintain required academic standards for scholarship renewal
Application Process
- Obtain and review the scholarship application and eligibility requirements
- Complete the scholarship application in full
- Prepare all required academic, financial, and supporting documentation
- Provide information demonstrating academic achievement and financial need
- Submit the completed application and supporting materials by mail
- Ensure the application is postmarked no later than April 24th
- Monitor communications regarding scholarship review and recipient selection
The Vince Dooley Scholarship is designed to help offset out-of-state tuition which helps Florida students attend the University of Georgia. The scholarship is renewable, provided the student maintains accepted academic criteria. Although the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville is primarily social in nature, our commitment to assist area students in obtaining a quality education from the University of Georgia may be our most significant achievement. With the establishment of the Jacksonville Bulldog Alumni Scholarships, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable organization, we are working to endow this scholarship through fund raising events like the GA/FL Silent Auction so it will continue to be given for many years to come.
