Scholarship Description

The Oregon Barber and Hairdressers (B&H) Grant Program provides one-time grants to low-income students who are attending a participating school in a financial aid eligible program. If you filed the ORSAA, contact us for assistance on how to print your ORSAA to share with your college to see if you are eligible for the B&H grant.

Scholarship Details

  • Awards depend on available funds and interest earned on the B&H fund

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a resident of Oregon
  • Attend a licensed Oregon school of barbering, hair design, cosmetology or manicure
  • Attend a school that participates in Federal Title IV financial aid programs and the B&H Grant Program
  • Enroll full-time in a program that is at least nine months long or 900 clock hours
  • Demonstrate significant financial need

Application Process

  1. Complete the FAFSA and include the barber or beauty school you plan to attend
  2. If you filed the ORSAA, contact Oregon Student Aid for assistance with printing your ORSAA to share with your school
  3. Contact your school and let them know you are interested in the B&H Grant
  4. Make sure your FAFSA or ORSAA information is received by the school you plan to attend no later than February 1st of the award year
  5. Apply as early as possible, since grant funding is limited and awards vary each year

Participating schools (listed below) are notified by OSAC each February of the number and amount of grants available. Your school selects eligible students to award and will notify you if you have been selected to receive an award.
