Scholarship Description

The Adam Smith Fellowship is a one-year program designed for doctoral students from any university and discipline who have an interest in political economy. This fellowship provides an opportunity for PhD students to engage with key thinkers and schools of thought in political economy through workshops and seminars hosted by the Mercatus Center. Applications for the coming academic year are due by March 15th.

Fellowship Details

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be enrolled in a PhD program at any university
  • Open to students from all disciplines, including economics, philosophy, political science, sociology, and related fields
  • Interest in political economy and engagement with diverse schools of thought

Application Process

  2. Include a CV, statement of purpose, and academic writing sample
  3. Application review begins after the deadline
  4. Decisions will be announced approximately 12 weeks after the deadline

Adam Smith Fellows spend three weekends during the academic year and one week during the summer participating in workshops and seminars on the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy.
