Hello, my name is Jimmy Brown. I am an African American Honor student since 2nd grade. I’m a senior in high school. I am applying for this scholarship so that my situation of financial hardship to go to college does not prevent me from my heart’s desire to help people as my future career. I’ve played football for 9 years straight and during my life time I’ve seen a lot of unhealthy people and multiple injuries. I want to help people especially upcoming generations and elderly get healthy and live and improve their bodies. I’ve been injured a few times but by Gods grace I recovered. Experience is the best teacher and my goal is to help and educate others so they won’t go through what I went through.

Persja D.  on 9/4/2022 9:14:46 PM

Hey! My name is Persja Daniels and I am looking forward to applying to this scholarship. I am a first generation college student and am trying my best to find the guidance from school counselors, transfer plan advisors, professors, and mentors to navigate throughout my first year of college with no family experience. I currently attend Sacramento City College looking to transfer to Georgia State University in the fall 2024. I understand that this process won't necessarily be the easiest but understand that this goal is completely achievable. Academically, I am excelling and taking care exactly what it is that is necessary to accomplish this goal, but on the financial aspect of things I hope not to let the doubt financial coverage be a barrier. Any additional information or help would be greatly appreciated on my journey. Best of Luck!

Adel Barocio  on 1/16/2021 1:43:39 PM

My name is Adel I was a teen mom was able to graduate in continuation school thinking that would be it for me. I have perused my education by becoming a MA and my dream is to do the LVN program to eventually become the RN that I have always dreamed of. I am a mother of 4 trying to show my kids that mommy can be successful and be able to get off aid and be able to afford things that o have never been able to dream of. This scholarship will pay off the remainder that I unfortunately don’t qualify for I always give my 100 I know I’m going to graduate as hard as it will be and being bilingual. I have never won a scholarship in my life so it would be a first to be proud of and to show everyone that I was able to do it.

Alda, Figueroa  on 11/12/2020 3:49:08 PM

Hello, my name is Alda Figueroa and I am a HS student in California. I am planning on enrolling to Allan Hancock in Santa Maria, Ca. I am interested in sociology and Art, i made a research on that, and I found a program that fits well to me. My family is supporting me to study right now, but I will need help because I get anxious, depressed and overwhelmed often with the activities I need to accomplish. I love music and art as wellness tools for me as well as singing and playing piano, saxophone, and guitar. I enjoy being around people and specially children. School is something I wish to pursue and achieve my goal. Independently of my health I want to work on my education.

Vivian Girgis  on 10/22/2020 8:06:00 PM

Hello, my name is Vivian Girgis I'm an I'm applying for this scholarship because I'm a first generation family that will be attending a 4 year university, and I need as much help as I can. I like to think of myself as a very determined person. I am very organized and well rounded. I manage to complete my schedule in a timely manner. I have seven classes which include honors/AP classes. I participate in extracurricular activities such as tennis, volunteering at the hospital, and well as participating in other clubs, while also completing my daily homework and maintaining a 4.5 GPA. I would also describe myself as insightful, many of my classmates and peers ask me for assistance in their classes and other activities. Overall I believe I am a well-rounded perfectionist. By all this, I am sure that I won't quit when it gets tough because I have really high goals for my future.

Hello I really need this scholarship because I finally got into the school I've been wanting to go to so I can study Theater and Screenwriting, but the school is an expensive area to live in not to mention the tuition, books, and meal plan that you have to pay for. It's not just to help me to also help my mother because my parents are divorced and my dad doesn't pay for me to go to college so she tries for my sisters and I but it's hard for her. I would like your help so she doesn't always have to worry about and so I can pursue my dream.

Kayci H  on 3/22/2016 12:58:17 PM

I intend to apply as well. I got accepted to San Jose State so I need all the help I can get

Anthony M  on 2/29/2016 4:58:19 PM

I'm going to apply this scholarship. The reason is that I'm going to San Jose State University this semester and I'm coming from a small town, which my parents own a family business, which doesn't mean that we have lots of money, we are barely getting by. I would have to move there, because its almost 2 hours away from my town. I help out my parents at their work when I have time from school and my job that I work part time. I work for free at my parents business, so I don't get paid from my parents, since they need the money to pay not just the bills for the house but as well the building for the business.

I applied for this scholarship to help pay for Nursing School. I am a struggling, young mother of 2 children and this scholarship would really help me reach my goals. I am motivated and determined to give my children the future they deserve.

I am curently a student at Golden Valley High School and I would really love to earn this scholorship because I don´t come from a wealthy family and don´t have much to offer. I am a person who loves school and I have dreams and winning this scholorship would really help me to chase my dreams.

Tamika J  on 8/7/2015 10:15:38 PM

I am currently starting my College adventure to become a Professional Medical Assistant with intentions to further my career to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. I have never won a award but am very positive, and have high hopes for good things to come. Despite all the put downs from family members and have no friends but my two children who are four years old and three weeks old, I look and seek to stay strong as a helper, as a Mom and a wife, so I can show them anything is possible if you just believe. This scholarship is not a want, it is a need. I can encourage my family, tend to my children's needs and Most importantly put this money where its needed in my Career. I only believe in going up, and never coming back down. Looking forward to the future with.

I'm a female hispanic who is the first one to go to a 4 year university. I love, to go to school, learn new material/subjects. Education is very important to me. It's my life! Also, getting a higher education is very important. Because, I can help out my community who are in need. I consider myself, an honest, kind, hard working woman who has been through so many struggles in my life. Education has saved my life! Without, education I would not be where I am at. And I'm very thankful for my friends, and professors who helped me get this far. I strongly believe getting this scholarship can help me further my education career goals.

DANIEL G  on 8/19/2012 4:27:57 AM

As the oldest brother of four i`m suppose to be there role model and guide them the right path. i deserve this because, i`m honest, hard working, and committed on what i do.

I applied for this scholarship 3 years ago, and I got it. It has been an excellent support to my very expensive tuition. It has been great, and I can't imagine what I would do without it. As long as you demonstrate a financial need within a certain income bracket and have the corresponding GPA bracket, then you should be set
