Scholarship Description

The CDGA | UVS Swing Club Scholarship is awarded to the dependents of a veteran or dependents of deceased or disabled veteran living or hospitalized in Illinois or "Chicago District" (Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan and Southern Wisconsin).

Scholarship Details

  • $5,000 awarded per academic year
  • Scholarship renewable for up to four years
  • Award based on financial need, scholastic achievement, community service, and personal goals
  • Applications reviewed on a rolling basis annually

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be the dependent of a veteran, deceased veteran, or disabled veteran
  • Must intend to enroll in an accredited college or career training school
  • Must reside in Illinois or the "Chicago District" (Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, Southern Wisconsin)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale

Application Process

  1. Submit a personal letter (essay) outlining your goals and background
  2. Provide two letters of recommendation from non-family members
  3. Include a copy of your parent’s 1040 tax form (first two pages)
  4. Submit a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from your FAFSA application
  5. Provide a copy of your high school transcripts
  6. Submit copies of ACT and/or SAT scores
  7. Include a Veteran Disability Form if applicable
