  • Scholarship Description
  • The PFLAG Norman Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship presented to an outstanding graduating
    senior who is either an active participant of a Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), is LGBTQ (Lesbian,
    Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning), or is a straight ally and would like to help move
    equality forward. The goal of the applicant should be to attend college or another educational
    institution/accredited facility. If the winner is a Norman Public School attendee, the scholarship
    award will be presented at either the Norman High School or the Norman North High School
    Awards Ceremony in May. If the recipient is homeschooled, in an alternative education system,
    or within Norman but not at either of the high schools, the award will be presented at a date
    determined by the recipient and the Scholarship Committee.

    Who is eligible for the scholarship?

    Any current resident of Norman, who is a graduating senior is eligible if he or she meets these
    qualifications:

    - Plans to continue his or her education/training beyond high school in any institution of higher education or other educational institution/accredited facility within 12 months of graduation upon admittance/acceptance.
    - Promotes inclusion and supports people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
