Better Business Bureau Serving Western VA (BBB) promotes integrity and ethics in the marketplace through voluntary business self-regulation. The Annual Student of Integrity Scholarship competition honors high school seniors and homeschooled students from our 32-county service area who personifies ethics through leadership, community service, and actions. Students should have a 3.0 GPA. Scholarships are awarded directly to the recipients to apply toward college tuition or post-secondary education expenses. Recipients are required to enroll in an accredited university, college, or trade school following high school graduation, and attend the Student of Integrity Awards Ceremony to receive their scholarship.
There are three primary sections students will be evaluated on during the review process: essay writing (clear and concise writing that presents an ethical dilemma and answers the essay prompt); extracurricular activities (highlight your commitment to a job, community service, volunteer work, organization, sports team or club activity); and leadership roles (explain the leadership position you held during your extracurricular activities and beyond). Besides the application, you must also submit an official transcript and a recommendation letter.
