Scholarship Description

The Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) is the state agency responsible for the management and oversight of the state's student financial aid system for Wisconsin residents attending institutions of higher education. It also may enter into interstate agreements, such as remission of nonresident tuition. HEAB administers programs of student financial aid, including grant, scholarship, and loan programs; tuition reciprocity agreements; and tuition capitation contracts. Grants and scholarships are "gift" aid; they do not have to be repaid. Each program has specific eligibility requirements.

Wisconsin residents can apply for a variety of scholarship, grants and loans, administered by HEAB. Eligible applicants must be residents of Wisconsin, have a high school diploma or GED, be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program and be attending a non-profit college or university based in Wisconsin. Eligibility for need-based aid programs is determined by filing the FAFSA. Application requirements and dollar amounts will vary by award.
