Scholarship Description
If you're a high school senior aiming for college or vocational school, Burger King Scholarships offer financial assistance in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Canada. Here's a streamlined overview:
General High School Senior Track:
For graduating high school seniors or home-schooled students who:
• Reside in the eligible regions.
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
• Plan full-time enrollment for the coming academic year at an accredited institution.
• Employee-Based Track:
This track comprises two segments:
1) Traditional Postsecondary Education:
Open to Burger King employees, their spouses, domestic partners, or dependent children who:
• Live in the eligible regions.
• Are high school seniors, GED recipients, or current college students.
• Hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Intend to enroll in the coming academic year at an accredited institution.
2) Enrichment Programs:
For employees, spouses/domestic partners pursuing courses such as language, computer, or accounting at accredited institutions who:
• Reside in the eligible regions.
• Are employees of Burger King Corporation or participating franchisees.
• Plan to enroll in enrichment programs for the coming academic year.
James W. McLamore WHOPPER® Scholarship:
This scholarship is open to selected applicants from both tracks who:
• Are U.S. or Canadian citizens.
• Are high school seniors or home-schooled students in specific regions.
• Apply as full-time freshmen to accredited U.S. or Canadian colleges.
• Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Exhibit leadership in community service, athletics, or similar activities.
• Demonstrate substantial work experience and financial need.
Application Process:
• Apply in English, Spanish, or French.
• Submit your application with a current transcript by December 15th, or when 50,000 applications are received.
• You're responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information.
• Application status notifications will be emailed in May.
• Scholarship amounts vary by track.
Recipient Responsibilities:
• Submit a Scholarship Acceptance Form by the specified deadline.
• Notify your college or university about the award.
• Participate in surveys while receiving the award and up to two years beyond enrollment.
