  • Scholarship Description
  • Applicants for awards must be dependents of a public safety officer in the state of Oregon, as defined by ORS 237.610, who was killed or disabled in the line of duty. Eligible dependents include the child or stepchild of eligible public safety officers.

    Eligible public safety officers include:
    -Firefighters (excludes volunteers)
    -State Fire Marshal and the chief deputy fire marshal and deputy state fire marshals
    -Police chiefs and police officers
    -Sheriffs and deputy sheriffs
    -County adult parole and probation officers
    -Correction officers
    -Investigators of the criminal Justice division of the Department of Justice

    Applicants must be Oregon residents, enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time undergraduate students in Oregon, and have financial need.
