  • Scholarship Description
  • AFTH wants to help birth parents get on their feet and establish a career so we have started an Educational Scholarship program. Educational scholarships are available for parents who have placed their child for adoption.

    Eligibility:
    -Must have placed a child for adoption in or after the year 1985
    -Must have been accepted to a college or trade school
    -Must be able to show financial need
    -Must write an essay regarding their personal adoption story

    Submission materials:
    -A copy of your W-2 or last year's tax return
    -Your essay about your adoption journey
    -A letter of verification of placement from your agency or attorney
    proof of acceptance to the school.

    The deadline for the spring semester applications is December 1st. The deadline for the fall semester applications is July 1st.
