  • Scholarship Description
  • The Pinnacol Foundation Scholarship Program helps the children of Colorado workers injured or killed in a compensable work-related accident - regardless of insurance carrier - pay for a post-secondary education.

    Eligibility:
    -Be the natural, adopted, step-child or full dependent of a worker injured or killed in a compensable work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with a Colorado-based employer and entitled to receive benefits under the Colorado Workers' Compensation Act
    -Be between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of application deadline
    -Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
    -Have a high school diploma, GED or be a high school senior
    -Hold legal status in the United States; or meet the requirements and have applied or started the process of applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
    -Submit a comprehensive first-year application which includes documentation of your parent's accident, personal essay, transcripts, financial information, representation of civic involvement, and a letter of recommendation.
    -Submit a renewal application every year

University Professor Arrested for Restroom Recording

A University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Professor has been accused of following members of a pro-chief Illiniwek group into a restroom and videotaping. He was arrested for unauthorized videotaping but was released from the county jail since the state's attorney's office did not charge him with a crime. [...]
