  • Students interested in applying for the scholarship will need to either nominate themselves, or be nominated by a counselor, a community foundation or a Posse alumnus. Nominated students will undergo a three-step election process. During the first step, the foundation will place them in situations that highlight their public speaking, listening, negotiation and communication skills. Those selected to move on to the next step will be invited back for an interview. In the final recruitment stage, applicants will undergo a finalist workshop where Posse staff and university representatives select the university posse winners for that year.

    Eligibility:
-Be nominated by their high school or a community-based organization
-Be in the first term of their senior year in high school. Depending on the Posse city, nominations are often taken between the spring and early August before the new school year begins
-Demonstrate leadership within their high school, community or family
    -Demonstrate academic potential
