  • Scholarship Description
  • The objective of the 16th District PTA Scholarship is to give deserving young people the financial means to continue their education. This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to high school seniors attending Fayette County Public Schools. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Scholarships are awarded based on applicant's financial need, academic achievement and contribution to the community. The amount of the award varies each year. I applied for this scholarship because I am looking for a way to pay for college because my current situtation finanically is not the best. I currently live in a one bedroom apartment with 5 other people barely making ends meet. And we are struggling finanically. I plan to major in neuroscience and become a neurologist. From a younger age, I always had a deep fascination with the human body more specifically the human brain.

The coronavirus made laptops a necessity for college students. Where before students without personal computers or laptops could use on-campus computers and provided software to meet the technological needs of their courses, the shift last spring to online classes necessitated that students have a stable internet connection and a compatible device.
