For the contest, students are required to write an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words in response to the question:

"Cell phones are an integral part of teenagers' lives. Despite statistics, enforcement and numerous advertising campaigns showing the dangers of texting and distracted driving, teens continue to text or talk on the phone while driving. What - if anything - can be done to stop teens from using a phone while driving? What could be done to stop you and your friends from texting and driving?"

For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
