  • Scholarship Description
  • The FWSF Scholarship Fund provides graduate and undergraduate scholarships to San Francisco Bay Area women pursuing careers in finance and financial services. Beyond financial support, FWSF scholarship recipients have the opportunity to be mentored by FWSF members and attend career development and networking events.

    Undergraduate scholarships are awarded to women who will be juniors or seniors in the Fall semester of the current year and Graduate scholarships are awarded to students who will be enrolled during the upcoming Summer semester or thereafter. This includes current students or future students who have been accepted into a graduate business program.

    Applicant must be enrolled during the upcoming Summer semester or thereafter at an independently accredited Bay Area college or university, either at the main physical campus of a Bay Area college/university or be enrolled and attending a school satellite campus located within 1 of the 9 Bay Area counties and taking at least 80% of classes at a satellite campus. Must follow a course of study to attain a degree and pursue a career in finance or in the financial services industry and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.4 or equivalent. In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]

Gucci Gaffe Results in Green for Grads

Gucci is releasing a new line of... diversity undergraduate scholarships for students who are "traditionally underrepresented in the fashion industry." The 1.5 million U.S. university college scholarship program is set to run for four years, targeting students who attend four-year universities.
