  • Scholarship Description
  • The Ruby and Kendrel Scholarship Fund was created in memory of the SHEro Inc. founders' mothers Ruby Benston and Kendrel Ross. This scholarship is open to North Carolina young women who have also had the unfortunate loss of their mother. There are two (2) scholarships available for high school seniors. Each scholarship is revolving (up to four years) and is distributed per semester.

    Eligibility:
    -Full-time high school senior female who will graduate at the end of the academic year
    -Minimum 3.0 GPA
    -Loss of mother (if selected, we will require official documentation)
    -Acceptance and intention to attend four-year university as a full-time student in the fall directly after high school graduation
    -Completed application, including brief essay and letter of recommendation from guidance counselor, teacher, or community mentor
