-Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed a GED program
-Be accepted by or enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college, university, or trade school (including certificate programs such as Paramedic) at the time the scholarship is awarded
-Be able to demonstrate the capacity for advanced academic achievement or technical proficiency as demonstrated by maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
-Have served in the U.S. Military with a military occupational specialty of 68W (or service specific equivalent)
-Must have separated from service under honorable conditions or be currently serving in the Reserves or National Guard
-Have been awarded the Combat Medic Badge (CMB) for service as a line medic who was engaged in actual ground combat and performed medical duties (including aviation units)
While the intention of this scholarship is to facilitate continued education in any medical related field, there are no restriction or limitations placed on degrees, certificates, or majors. Students are required to submit a brief autobiography and write a 1,200-1,500 word essay that answers the following questions:
1. How has their experience as a line medic impacted your life?
2. What are your goals and intentions are towards the advancement or of understanding of medical care or relief and what are you ultimate goals in this area?
