  • Scholarship Description
  • The purpose of the Dr. Gussie M. Ware Memorial Scholarship is to provide educational awards for deserving young African-American Women.

    A. Applicant must be an African-American female
    B. Graduating high school senior who has been accepted into a two- or four-year college or university, OR a past Dr. Gussie M. Ware Memorial Scholarship recipient who is currently enrolled in college
    C. Has a current GPA of at least 2.5/4.0
    D. Has a permanent address in Winnebago County OR is a relative of Dr. Gussie M. Ware

    Graduate students are not eligible.

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich grabbed a woman after she swiped his notes off his lectern and was arrested on a charge or "breach of peace."
