Wouldn't a scholarship help you breathe a little easier? Truth Initiative is offering college and graduate students a chance to earn the "Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to Reduce Tobacco Use Among Priority Populations." The annual scholarship competition empowers and supports students eager to help Truth Initiative achieve a generation for whom tobacco use is a thing of the past.
-Applicants must provide evidence of community service in support of a priority under-served population, meaning a community disproportionately affected by tobacco, such as low-income, African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Asian, Hawaiian American, Pacific Islander, Alaska Native, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals. Service activities may include activism, outreach, or peer counseling in tobacco prevention or control. The community service activity should be described in the applicant's personal statement
-Applicants must submit documentation of financial need for scholarship funds (SAR report)
-Students pursuing a course of study in public health, communications, social work, education, liberal arts will be considered eligible
-Applicants must have a Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 (C average) in the most recent academic year
