Scholarship Description

In a joint effort, Student Veterans of America and RTX have proudly come together to offer two scholarships, each valued at $10,000, to student veterans who exemplify dedication and enthusiasm for their chosen fields of study. These scholarships, known as the Patriot Scholarships, are exclusively available to U.S. Army veterans and are named in honor of RTX’s Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.

Eligibility Criteria:

This scholarship opportunity is open to Army student veterans pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees at accredited four-year colleges or universities. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold the status of a U.S. Army veteran. • Be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate studies, or be enrolled in a graduate program for the 2023/2024 academic year. • Attend college or university full-time at an accredited four-year institution in the United States. • Demonstrate a strong commitment to and passion for their chosen field of study. • Exhibit leadership qualities and active engagement within their community. • Maintain their status as a current student veteran, which includes members of the National Guard or Reserve. This should be demonstrated by providing a DD 214 (Member – Copy 4) and a current transcript. • Have received an honorable discharge, maintaining a veteran status in good standing.

Application Process:

To apply for this esteemed scholarship, candidates are required to submit the following:

• Transcripts reflecting their academic record. • A 1-2 minute video encompassing the following details: • Personal background, including reasons for joining the military, and, if applicable, any experience with the Patriot system during their service. • Current area of study and career aspirations. • The significance of receiving this scholarship award in their academic journey.
