  • The Dr. Abdulmunim A. Shakir ISNA Scholarship Program was established because of the strong belief in the value of education by Dr. Shakir. He dedicated himself to education and specifically to working with inner city youth, introducing students to Islam and the Arabic language. He was a true leader and arranged for this scholarship fund to be established to support freshman students in their first year of higher education.

    Eligibility:
    -3.0 GPA or higher
    -Entering freshman year in college (current high school senior)
    -Any major/field of study
    -Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

    Submission materials:
    -Application Form
    -Essay question: please attach a one-page description of your commitment to leadership, scholarship, and Islam
    -Transcript
    -Letters of Recommendation
    -Student Aid Report (SAR) from your FAFSA
