  • The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. National Merit Finalists who list Miami as their first choice school with National Merit Corporation are eligible to receive a National Merit Scholarship sponsored by Miami University. Miami‚Äôs National Merit Scholarships range from $750 to $2,000 depending on financial need.
