Entry

Contest begins on 7/18/2016 and ends on 9/30/2016. Applicants will be entered once for following Scholarships.com on Instagram and creating a post using the correct format. Past Scholarships.com followers are eligible to enter. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible profiles received. Entries generated by automated devices are void. All entries become the property of Scholarships.com, LLC. Any attempt to damage the Scholarships.com website or undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. In the event of such an attempt being made, Scholarships.com reserves the right to prosecute violators to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Eligibility

The Scholarships.com's $500 #InstaScholarship Contest is open to all U.S. citizens who are either currently enrolled in high school and plan to attend a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution of higher education or are currently enrolled in a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution of higher education. Applicants must be following Scholarships.com in order to participate.

Prize

One (1) winner of $500 will be selected as the contest winner. All federal, state and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except at the discretion of Scholarships.com. If the winner chooses not to accept the prize, an alternate winner will be selected. If an eligible individual under 18 years of age is selected as the winner, his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to give authorization with an electronic affidavit. The prize check will be issued in the winner's name.

Winner Selection

Winners will be selected on creativity and originality. The winners will be notified via phone, email and/or social media. If Scholarships.com does not receive a reply to the winner notification announcement sent by email within thirty (30) days from the notification date, the prize will be forfeited and no alternate winners will be selected. Unless prohibited by law, the winner will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and a publicity/liability release within two (2) weeks of responding to the notification. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use the winners' names, cities, states, likenesses and/or voices for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation. Prize award materials and information will be sent to the winners once all required proof and documentation is received.

Scholarships.com reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the sweepstakes should viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Scholarships.com compromise the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this sweepstakes.

Limitation of Liability

Scholarships.com is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, technical error or human error which may occur in the processing of entries and submissions. Scholarships.com assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or alteration of entries. Scholarships.com reserves the rights to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the scholarship, in whole or in part, at any time.

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Scholarships.com, which shall be final. All applicable federal, provincial, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Except where prohibited by law, participation constitutes the winners' consent to Scholarships.com’s use of their names, cities and states of residence and entries for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media, online or offline, without further permission, consent, payment or other consideration, unless prohibited by law. If, for any reason, the promotion is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion, Scholarships.com reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion and to award the grand prize from among all eligible entries received prior to the date of termination. Scholarships.com reserves the right to amend or modify the terms & conditions at any time during the promotion.
